Diode-pumped Laser Engineering Center TEXT SIZE: A A A

Diode-pumped Laser Engineering Center (abbreviated to "LEC") is the research and development laboratory of "National Engineering Research Center for Semiconductor-pumped lasers". LEC conducts scientific and engineering activities in the fields of solid-state laser technologies and its applications. LEC has a long period of research history and accumulates strong background and knowledge in all-solid-state lasers and their application systems, especially in ultrashort picosecond pulse laser technology, high beam quality large energy nanosecond laser technology, ultraviolet laser technology, laser micro-machining and laser detection technology and so on. In terms of the design and development of high-power lasers, complex laser amplifiers, picosecond pulsed lasers, LEC is within the most advanced level all over the world.

With a team of strong research background, LEC has collected rich scientific and technical experiences in the laser technology and laser system development for the past 12 years. Totally more than 40 R & D members work in LEC, including 5 professors and 4 associate professors. LEC has advanced equipment and more than 1,000 square meters of optical cleaning laboratory, which provides a good condition for research activities.

Until now, LEC has launched 32 research projects, including national major projects of complex laser amplifiers, all-solid-state high energy picosecond lasers etc.. LEC has applied 175 invention patents, and 49 among them were authorized. LEC possesses the Second Grade of National Science and Technology Development Award, the First Grade Military Science and Technology Development Award, and another three province and ministry awards. Currently, the major projects undertaken by LEC include a major national scientific equipment development project and an instrumentation development project, which is supported by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology.
