AOE Attends the 4th IEEE GRSS Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing: Evolution in Remote Sensing TEXT SIZE: A A A

The Research Staff of Earth Observation Technology Application Department (ETA) , Academy of Opto-Electronics attend the 4th IEEE GRSS Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing: Evolution in Remote Sensing (WHISPERS 2012) ,which was held from June 4th - 7th, 2012 in Shanghai, China.

Dr. Wang Ning of ETA gave a academic report named “Comparison of the Land Surface Temperature and Emissivity Separation Method for Hyperspectral Thermal Infrared Measurement” on the conference. The report made a systematic review of the algorithms for separating surface temperature and emissivity of thermal infrared hyperspectral data, it implemented validation and analysis of different algorithms using simulated data and portion of ground measured data. The report attracted wide attention and interest of the participants. During the conference, participants from ETA listened to lots of related speeches and reports , and exchanged views with other researchers extensively, obtained valuable information for the future development of ETA.

WHISPERS 2012 is hosted by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), co-organized by Tongji University, state key laboratory of Remote sensing information engineering surveying and mapping, Wuhan University and so on. The conference covers a wide range of topics, including sensor design, noise estimation, physical modeling, data dimension reduction, pixel unmixing, endmember extraction and high-performance computation etc. Roughly 150 researchers from countries including China, USA, UK, France, Japan, Spain and Hungary joined the conference.
